Our Box 37279

We have placed a box on the moor somewhere. Our box has been placed in memory of our dog and our Niece.

Lacey loved walking on the moors and was a keen letterboxer.

Rachael died at the age of 19 from Brain Cancer.

Rachael and Lacey were great friends so we thought it was fitting to place their stamps in the same box.

Below is a copy of the headers we have put in the two visitors books.

Rachael's box

THIS IS IN MEMORY OF MY DAUGHTER

RACHAEL SPEAR (WHO’S PHOTO IS

ENCLOSED WHICH WAS TAKEN AT HER

18th BIRTHDAY PARTY). SHE WAS BORN

ON 23-11-1982 AND LOST HER FIGHT

WITH BRAIN CANCER ON 4-12-2001

AGED JUST 19 YEARS.

SHE WAS ALWAYS FULL OF FUN AND

NEVER STOPPED LAUGHING AND

JOKING RIGHT TO THE END, EVEN

THOUGH SHE WAS IN THE MOST

INCREDIBLE PAIN A LOT OF THE TIME.

SHE SPENT HER LAST MONTH IN

ROWCROFT HOSPICE IN TORQUAY

WHERE ALL THE STAFF WERE

FANTASTIC IN LOOKING AFTER HER

EVERY NEED.

LOVE DAD, SHARON HER SISTER

LAURA AND ALL THE REST OF HER

FAMILIES – SHE IS ALWAYS IN OUR

THOUGHTS

Lacey's Box

This box is in memory of my dog Lacey.

She loved her walks on the moors

helping me and my daughter find

the letterboxes.

She was like my shadow always

following me wherever I went.

Lacey was my loyal friend

and was always there

for me especially during the

difficult times in my life.

Rachael was my niece so I thought

it was right to have the boxes together

I will never forget Lacey.

She will always be there in my heart.
